SPEAK UP-ENGLISH LANGUAGE SCHOOL
21 YEARS WITH YOU

English language school Speak Up was founded in 1992. It was the fourth school of that type in Novi Sad. That was an extremely difficult period concerning education and everything else. It was very hard to obtain professional literature and high-quality program for English teaching. We were ordering literature from Segedin, Budapest, Montenegro, Slovenia, etc. We received help from Gutenberg bookshop and lovely people from Sremski Karlovci also helped us.

Even then we were conscious of the importance of learning English as a second language from earliest stages of growing up. We have been waiting for fifteen years for our proposal to come true. Our children have finally started to learn English from the first grade of primary education.

These were our beginnings. Working with little groups makes us recognizable even today! We have always followed and listened to the needs of our students. We have enjoyed and celebrated their success in passing different kinds of English tests and exams.

According to our long-term experience in teaching English as a second language, we realized that standard program is not enough for proficient communication in English. This is why we introduced very useful CONVERSATIONAL CLASSES with Sonja and Anja who were assistants on the Faculty of Philosophy during that time. That was in 1995. Today we have grown up students, who have their own jobs and lives, and they started in our school as pre-school English learners.

Generally speaking, during these 20 years we have gained an enormous trust as well as invaluable working experience with all age groups and we are very proud of that.

We are doing our best in order for our students to acquire knowledge of language skills in the most effective way. Our main goal is acquiring the ability to use English in every life situation.

Our syllabus is based on practical every-day English usage. The focus is equally put on each language skill (listening, speaking, writing and reading). Students acquire language skills through language games, audio-visual aids (computers, posters, flash cards, professional literature, realia etc.) as well as through various projects. Projects develop creativity in each age-group (with children as well as with adults).

Our teaching methods are based on constant student involvement and motivation. Only motivated student will actively and effectively respond to our tasks, and reach our final goal, and that is to speak English language actively and successfully.

We would like to thank our students for trusting us and we would also like to open the door for all of you who wish to enter the beautiful world of English language knowledge!
Sincerely yours,
Speak Up
