The National Park covers most of the mountain Tara, which is located in western Serbia and covers the area alongside the Drina River between Visegrad and Bajina Basta, and forms a part of our part of the Starovlaske mountains (Starovlasko-Raske highlands).

The area is located between latitude 43 º 52 'and 44 º 02' North and longitude 19 º 15 'and 19 º 38' East.

In terms of traffic connectivity and geographic characteristics, Tara is largely specific and extremely accessible. It is located near the highway connecting Belgrade, via Gornji Milanovac, Cacak, Uzice, Zlatibor, Prijepolje and Podgorica with the Montenegrin coast.
Access to the National Park is relatively good and accessible using three directions:
B.Bašta – Kaludjerske bare Road (16 km)
B.Bašta – Perucac - Mitrovac Road (27 km)
Kremna – Kaludjerske bare Road (9 km).
Bajina Basta has a solid connection with the main routes:
Belgrade – Valјevo – Bajina Basta – Kremna - Visegrad
Belgrade - Cacak - Uzice – Kremna - Visegrad
Sabac – Loznica – Ljubovija – Bajina Basta.
Sports and Recreation Complex “Dono Di Dio” is located near the village Krnja Jela, which is one of the most beautiful in this area, only 3 kilometers from Mitrovac. The complex is located next to the asphalt road to the lake Zaovine.

In addition to the above mentioned sites, “Dono Di Dio” is 10 kilometers away from the lake perucac, and Mokra Gora Park, with the famous resort Mećavnik or Küstendorf, as it is known in the world, founded by world-famous film director Emir Kusturica, hosting the annual film festival.
The resort is situated on a mountain meadow, sheltered by wooded mountainous fringes on both sides of the road.
